Borders politicians are planning a public meeting to discuss the future of Jedburgh Pool.
The public meeting was agreed at a meeting on Friday, 6 December between the local MP, MSP, councillors and the community council.
The meeting was attended by Rachael Hamilton MSP; John Lamont MP; Jedburgh councillors Scott Hamilton, Sandy Scott and John Bathgate; and several members of the local community council including Lindsay Wilson, Garry Feldman, George Anderson and Chico Woods.
The group has now issued a joint statement, in which they say they are "working to secure the long term future" of the pool.
The joint statement said: "We recognise the strength of feeling within the town around the closure of the Pool and are working to secure the long term future of the Laidlaw Memorial Pool which would allow it to reopen.
"We will facilitate a public meeting early in the New Year and will publish the agenda, date and time in due course."
