The newly elected Scottish Conservative leader Russell Findlay recently toured the Borders alongside local politicians.
He was joined by Rachael Hamilton MSP for visits to Laretburn farm, Scotland's Rural College, and the Jim Clark motorsport museum.
He also spoke at an event in Duns Castle for party activists and supporters, which was co-hosted by Mrs Hamilton and John Lamont MP.
Scottish Conservative leader Russell Findlay said: "I always enjoy visiting the Borders and I was pleased to speak with local people and businesses about the many important issues affecting their lives.
"There’s significant and justifiable anger about Labour's Family Farm Tax and concerns about potential mega-pylons that could scar the countryside.
"As leader, I'm determined that we will represent everyone in the Borders and across Scotland who wants politicians to show some common sense for a change."
Borders MSP and Scottish Conservative deputy leader, Rachael Hamilton, said: "Since being elected as leader just a month ago, Russell has been listening to what communities like ours care about the most and putting forward new ideas to improve our economy and public services.
"While the SNP and Labour waste time on fringe obsessions, Russell is focused on what matters to people's everyday lives.
"The Scottish Conservatives are the only party standing up for the Borders and rural communities across the country."
Borders MP John Lamont said: "Russell has made a great start as Scottish Conservative leader by setting out his vision for a low-tax economy and holding the SNP and Labour governments to account.
"I know local people are pleased to see a Scottish political leader visit the Borders so regularly, especially one who understands their concerns and stands up for the values that they believe in."
