Local politicians have congratulated Borders sporting stars who will participate in the Olympics and Paralympics, as the Paris Games begin.
The Borders will be represented by Jedburgh swimmer Lucy Hope, Selkirk's Sarah Robertson and Gordon para-athlete Samantha Kinghorn.
Scottish Borders MP, John Lamont, said: "I can't wait to see these fantastic local athletes compete and I hope households across the Borders will tune in to watch them too.
"Good luck to all the amazing British athletes participating in this year's Olympic and Paralympic Games."
Scottish Borders MSP, Rachael Hamilton, said: "It's fantastic for young people in the Borders to see these outstanding sporting stars representing Team GB on the world stage.
"I hope the next generation of young sportsmen and women will be encouraged by seeing these inspiring examples. I'll be cheering them on all the way."
