John Lamont MP has started a campaign to stop community hospital closures across the Scottish Borders.
NHS Borders have said they may soon suggest closing the 92 community hospital beds in Kelso, Duns, Hawick and Peebles.
The community hospitals have been under threat of closure for some time.
Earlier this year, Kelso GPs pulled out of the arrangement to support the hospitals.
The agreement for Knoll Hospital in Duns has also come to an end.
Scottish Borders MP, John Lamont, said: "Closing essential facilities across the Borders would be disgraceful. This unacceptable proposal must be ruled out.
"I have started a campaign to oppose the removal of these beds and I will fight hard to ensure they remain in place.
"Local people really appreciate the care they receive from dedicated NHS professionals at these community hospitals.
"The Scottish Government must provide more funding to protect community hospital beds. It is entirely the SNP's responsibility to protect our health services, they cannot blame anyone else."
