Borders MSP Rachael Hamilton said: “The current situation at Borders General Hospital is extremely worrying. Several constituents have already shared their concerns with me.
“Despite the continued best efforts of staff members, 17 years of neglect by the SNP is making its mark. Cancelled operations are up, delayed discharges continue to rise, and now A&E waiting times are stretched to the limit.
“It’s clear that without any meaningful actions, the situation will continue to worsen as we move into winter.
“I believe that residents in the Borders deserve immediate access to first-class care year-round. Neil Gray, the SNP Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for Health, needs to step up and provide NHS Borders with the resources that will ensure residents can access sustainable and high-quality care.”
